The Car Accident

So here's a fun story for us to tell everyone! So in our first couple of weeks in New Jersey, our car got in an accident while sitting in our parking spot in our parking lot outside of our townhouse. Greg and I had just sat down to relax and watch some television when all of a sudden we hear a car horn, followed by a crash and then our car alarm. Praise God that no one was hurt. The elderly woman driving was quite shaken up and didn't realize that she couldn't drive her car home. The glass in her driver's side window was completely shattered and both of her airbags deployed. Apparently she was coming out of the grocery store and trying to cross the road. Something must have happened that caused her to panic because she jumped the curb on the road, ran over a tree with an eight inch diameter trunk, crossed a driveway, jumped another curb and then hit our car.
These pictures are what followed...

So our car was parked in the first parking spot in the lot. The car was parked straight and for those of you who know my husband you understand how anal he is about parking straight in parking spots. As you can see from where the rear tires are and where the front tires ended us the woman driving must have been going incredibly fast. Especially when her ESCORT moved our ESCAPE!!
Currently our car is sitting at the auto body shop awaiting an estimate to see whether or not it is totaled. Who would have thought that our car could be totaled just by being hit while parked?
